about

Mark Duda has been the vocalist and guitarist for New York based rock band The Handful for four albums over the past 12 years. Over that time, Mark has received critical acclaim for his singing, guitar playing and songwriting. Mark is also the vocalist for Rome, Italy based rock band Mad City Rockers, who released 2009’s Black Celebration to rave reviews and strong sales worldwide. Mark has built a strong reputation with musicians and fans alike, and for this, his first solo album, he managed to recruit world class industry veterans to join him and the results are the amazing “Month of Sundays” album.

On “Month of Sundays” Mark is joined by a rhythm section of Thommy Price and Kenny Aaronson, and guitarist Jimi K. Bones. Thommy and Kenny have both recorded and played with Billy Idol and Joan Jett and The Blackhearts among many others. Jimi has played with Blondie and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts as well, and the sound of this record is definitely influenced by the attitude of the aforementioned bands.

“Month of Sundays” is a certain departure from the hard classic rock Mark’s bands (The Handful, Mad City Rockers) are known for. Instead, this is a melodic tuneful storytelling blend of traditional rock and punk that is full of NY City swagger. Mark has a few other friends of note joining him on the record. Punk guitar legend Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys, sax player Arno Hecht (Rolling Stones, Dion), and drummer Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow, Black Sabbath, The Handful) each sit in for a tune.
